THIS SIGN IS AUTHENTIC...I ONLY SPEAK FOR MYSELF AND THE THINGS THAT I POST.  THESE WORDS COME STRAIGHT FROM MY HEART...
PLEASE READ ON AND FIND OUT HOW I CAME UPON BEING SO FORTUNATE AS TO OWN THIS "GEM"
"LEE RIDERS" VINTAGE ~ METAL SIGN.  ONCE IN A LIFETIME CHANCE TO OWN A PART OF "LEE"
Condition is Used. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.
USED BUT IN EXCELLENT CONDITION..THIS SIGN IS SO PERFECT THAT IT IS HARD TO IMAGINE THE PRISTINE CONDITION IT IS IN FOR BEING OVER 50 YEARS OLD.  ONE SLIGHT IMPERFECTION IN PAINT  MISSING BELOW THE FRONT FOOT OF THE HORSE, SOMEWHAT OF A RUSTED AREA (AROUND THE OUTER RIM OF THE SIGN) AND THIS IS PICTURED AT TOP.
ALSO JUST ADDED A PICTURE OF THE
BACK
OF THE SIGN TO SHOW THE AGE SPOTS OF HANGING ON THE WALLS AT THE LEE FACTORY OUTLET.
It was 40 years ago…on a day long excursion to buy antiques.
My 2 sisters and I would go to Lancaster, Pa,that is where the Best antiques were.
Many times we would shoot over to the The Lee Factory Outlet, in those days that is where all of our jeans were purchased and we loved that place…it was in Reading, Pa.
Now keep in mind that Reading, PA and Lancaster, Pa is only about 30 minutes from one/another.
On this specific day while buying antiques we had our favorite spot….and so that is where we kept going back to.
As all 3 of us approached the counter at the same time…my 2 sisters always bought the typical antiques, I was quite different.
I walked up to the counter with a “LEE RIDER” VINTAGE METAL ADVERTISING SIGN.
OMG…they both laughed at me.
SUSAN, what is wrong with you buying something like that?
And now 40 years later I just saw the exact sign the other day for sale for over 0 and could not believe my eyes.
You see my sign was bought for the Log Home I always dreamed of…but I never got.
So this metal sign laid on a
bookshelf
for 40 years waiting for the day.
Now to go back to that antique shop…When the man heard my sisters laughing he politely told them that my choice was a good one.
He said that they (the sign) are hard to comeby.
He had my curiosity going and I asked if that is the case how would you come up with it.
“With Reading right around the corner we have the ability to know when clean outs happen and old things go and new things come” (i guess because he knew us quite well he felt comfortable letting some of his secrets out)
He wouldn’t go any further with his conversation and so I felt I should leave it there.
Forty years ago this advertising sign cost me .00 and then.... that was a
lot of money for an advertising sign…but I wanted this thing bad
(you can see by my (2nd) picture that the price tag is still on it) and I will leave it on.
